Free time

Free Time in Thought of Teenagers

I noticed recently there is a lot of free time among the youth in our community and other communities, especially among adolescents.
All the time became a free time, which could lead to the direction of sins and commit crimes.

Through my studies I wanted to gather information on this phenomenon and recognize the concept of free time and disadvantages and proposed solutions to fill this time.
And also try to educate my friends in this community in order to be effective and useful elements for the future.

The interview I did it with grade 11 (class mates)
I asked them some important questions about this phenomenon (free time) I asked them: In your opinion What is the definition of free time? Do you think that free time gives the impression positively or negatively, and why?Give some activitiesl to fill your free time?

Almost  all interviewees agreed that free time is the time to do hobbies and to develop our skills.
One of the onterviewees believe that free time can be positive if it is used to practice a healthy hobby or develop a skill. On the other hand it can be a negative if it is used to do something harmful to others. Another student thinks that it is negative if time is wasted in doing silly stuff.
Activities suggested from the interviewees are

Reading the Quran ,tighting the ties of kinship, reading books or magazines, volunteery work ,hobbies, sports, watching TV and travel.
Filling the free time starts from  inside and not from outside in the sense that begins with the discovery of yourself and what tends to their development and evolution.
Does it tend to read or for sport or art??there are many ways to gain knowledge and developp different skills.

Dhofar University

DHOFAR   UNIVERSITY
VISION OF FUTURE

Dhofar University aspires to occupy a recognized position among the institutions of higher quality education.
It has three colleges besides the foundation program.  The colleges are the College of Art and Applied Science, the College of Commerce and Business Administration and the College of Engineering. In each college there are many specializations.

In addition,DU has many activities with the local community through formal channels such as registration Dep., public relations and student affairs.

The library has a variety books which help students in there studying and research.

DU has an excellent staff which improves the education operation. We interviewed Mohammed Mahmud Mustafa, a lecturer in the foundation department, about the qualifications of the staff. He said that to work in the foundation program, it requires a master degree. He also stated that to work in colleges PHD degree is required, but some majors just require bachelor degree.
To work in DU, 3 years of experience is needed too.

He ended by saying "It is my pleasure to have this opportunity to talk about DU, the nice location of job that I have. I hope that we meet you and your friends in DU after completing general certificate."

Our School Participation in the Youth Summit in Muscat

I am Muntaha Hassan from grade 11 in A' Saada Basic School(10-12). I participated in Muscat Youth Summit which was held in Al Nahda Spa and Resort.
In this youth summit we had such a wonderful time, through learning and action. We met students from different places, some are colleges and universities and some from schools like us.
The main purpose of this summit was to gather up the new generation all in one place to discuss and toss their own thoughts to how to develop Oman and how to make it a better country by solving the issues that we're facing in the current time.
We learned a lot from this summit, how to be a successful person, how to invest a profit winning investments and advertisements.
We really enjoyed our time, we met plenty of friends and we had entertaining activities for each session.
I hope we can participate in the next Youth Summit because I think we can do much better now that we know the way it's done.
